This card won't do that. Some supposedly "fast" cards apparently are only fast on the reading part, not on the writing part, and eventually cause the camera's video buffer to fill up and eventually lock up the camera. It will hold a good amount of video for (relatively) little money.It also works just fine, of course, for single-shot shooting. This card is too slow to be reasonably used for continuous-drive shooting on a large-sensor camera. However, on the Canon 5D Mark II, it can keep up with the HD video stream.
Highly recommend. It was alot cheaper than buying a new unit. I got two of these, and they both work great. I was able to upgrade my good buddy's ipod mini, as well as my own zen micro to 16 gb.
you're not going to get the same ridiculous write speeds as some of the cards, so if you're into shooting fast motion and need a billion frames a second spend the money- but for even the good amateur photog, this is a must have (esp if you expect to take any reasonable amount of raw images). both work great. great card for the money. bought a 32gb for an old ipod mini and this for my dslr.
Perhaps just a statistical DOA, but I'll take my chances with another manufacturer next time. No immediate response to my emails until i filed a claim with amazon, then customer service worked like a charm. Lost the video and pictures of my twins' christmas show at school when the CF card up and died after a few hours of use. Card was on back order and could not be replaced timely, so company refunded my payment immediately.
However, this is more likely a PDA problem rather than a problem of the compactflash.Overall, this this an excellent buy and is much cheaper than other equivalent brand-name products.I have not used it with a digital camera and therefore have no idea whether it is fast enough for digital photography. I bought this primarily to expand the storage capacity of my Dell x51v PDA, and it works fine except that it sometimes requires a reset of the PDA to recognize the compactflash.
